Joe Bangit enters his 4th season as the Head Coach of the Lady Archers Women's Volleyball team. Bangit brings over a decade of coaching experience to Moody. Much of that includes successfully coaching at the high school and elite club level. A veteran of the high school and club programs for the past decade and with management experience within Fortune 100 companies for two decades, Joe makes it a goal to combine experiences and leadership to act quickly, but effectively. Not foreign to high functioning teams, Bangit draws many learnings from the Michelin-awarded kitchens. As a classically-trained chef from Kendall College, Bangit was part of the team from The Peninsula hotel that was awarded a Michelin star. Great food aside, it was because of the team's ability to run consistently at a high quality.

In his first season, Bangit led the Lady Archers to a Top 10 finish in the entire NCCAA conference. Three from his core group graduated, but was able to recruit four strong incoming freshman to start the second season. With a young team, the Lady Archers were able to finish strong in the Top 15.

"Here at Moody," Bangit says, "I like to use the game of volleyball to grow not only learning of volleyball skills, but also to push and extend their faith in God. How we represent God in our faith through trials and success, is what really matters. If they come out better volleyball players, then that part's the bonus."

Lastly, Bangit values the importance of enjoying the game. He is still an active player at competitive levels. But it is the constant pursuit of getting better that is fun for Bangit. He believes in constant learning, being OK to fail, but also doing something about it.

Joe has been married to his wife Charina for 15 years and have a new teenager, NJ, in the house. They round off their family with their pit bull Millie and boxer pup Ocho.

To end, one of his favorite quotes is: "If you think you can or you can't, you're right."
