The Lady Archers travelled to Dubuque, Iowa on Saturday, September 6th, to play in a tri-match against Emmaus University and Spurgeon College.

 

Their first match was against Spurgeon College and was a competitive tussle from start to finish. The Archers and Knights fought hard throughout before Spurgeon hung on for a thrilling five-set victory 30-32, 25-15, 11-25, 25-23, 15-13.

  

Moody then battled the host Eagles 30 minutes later. Emmaus showcased why it is rated in the top five of the NCCAA Division II national rankings, winning the first set 25-15, but the Archers fought back in set two, tying the score 21-21 on a kill from Abby Clinton, before Emmaus scored four of the next five points to capture the second set 25-22. The Eagles then closed out the match with a 25-13 third-set win.

   

Moody returns to the practice court this week to prepare for a pair of home matches this weekend. The Archers host Kuyper College at 7:00 p.m. Friday and Great Lakes Christian at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Solheim Center. Come cheer on the Archers!
