Five Set Thriller to Close Regular Season

Five Set Thriller to Close Regular Season

In a dramatic five-set showdown, the Moody Bible Institute women's volleyball team pushed Beloit College to the limit before falling just short, 3–2 (26–24, 15–25, 25–18, 14–25, 12–15).

The Archers came out strong in the opening set, rallying late to steal a 26–24 victory behind disciplined defense and timely kills from Kiarra Henkel and Grace Vahey. After dropping the second set, Moody responded with poise in the third, pulling ahead thanks to sharp attacking and strong net play to reclaim the lead, 2–1 in sets.

Beloit, however, found its rhythm in the fourth and carried that momentum into the decisive fifth frame. Despite a late surge from the Archers, the Buccaneers held on for the narrow 15–12 win to take the match.

Henkel led the Moody offense with 13 kills and 4 errors on 46 swings, while Vahey added 10 kills and just one error on 33 attempts — both posting efficient hitting percentages that anchored the Archers' attack. Setter coordination and back-row defense kept Moody competitive throughout, as the team maintained a .206 hitting percentage overall, nearly matching Beloit's .200 mark.

The Archer's celebrated the Seniors Kiarra Henkel, Abby Clinton, and Maci Bailey as they closed their final home game of the season. The Lady Archer's will play in the NCCAA Midwest Region Tournament on November 7th and 8th.
