Men’s Cross Country Runs Strong at Greenville Classic

The Men's Cross Country team raced at the Greenville Classic last Friday, hosted by Greenville University in Hillsboro, IL. McKendree University came first with 62 points, Joliet Junior College followed close behind with 68 points, and Principia College took third with 96 points. The Archers placed 8th out of the 10 teams, with 181 points, and shaved 1 minute 59 seconds off their best team 8k time since the program began.

Kevin Drake led the Archers in 27:51, finishing 14th overall and setting a 23-second PR. Nate Brant was next in 30:12, setting a 27-second PR, with Joel Mead closing in 30:55, a 6-second PR. Will Hartke and Josiah Berni pushed to season bests of 31:14 and 31:32 respectively, finishing out the score for the Archers.

The Archers will compete next at the Red/White Open Invitational, hosted by North Central College, on Thursday, November 6th. The 3-mile race will take place at 4 p.m. at St. James Farm in Warrenville, IL.
