The Men's XC team raced in their first meet of the season, Friday, September 5th, at the Lewis Earlybird Invitational hosted by Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. The University of Chicago dominated with 18 points, Lewis University (Ill.) placed 2nd with 66 points, and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) took 3rd with 89 points. While the Archers finished last with 226 points, they ran strong races and gained valuable racing experience.
Kevin Drake (Senior) and Joel Mead (Freshman) pushed each other over the 6k course and finished first and second for the Archers in 22:20.62 and 22:20.96. Nate Brant finished a strong race in 22:49, Will Hartke in 23:08, Josiah Berni (24:09), Owen McKenney (24:59), Hunter Otis (25:05), William Derby (28:17), Hayden Brown (28:58), Nate Darge (31:08), and Joseph Clare (34:40).

The MXC team will compete next Saturday (September 13th) at 12 p.m. at the Ken Weidt Classic, hosted by Concordia University of WI. The men's 8k course will take place on the campus of Concordia U.
