The Archers faced off against Emmaus University this evening for a gripping duel. The Archers initially got off to a strong start with several 3-pointers and aggressive offense. Emmaus fought back hard to close the gap, but the Archers rallied as a team and claimed the victory 82-77.
There were strong plays by Thomas Wright, who scored 21 points and asserted 9 rebounds, and Isaac Martinez, who scored 18 points and snatched 8 rebounds. Cameron Scott and Gary Michel each made 14 points, with Gary Michel claiming 8 rebounds. The team as a whole worked together with a dynamic and united flow. In Coach Chapin's words: "Really proud of the rhythm the team maintained for who halves on offense. Cam knocking down threes all night was big. What did I say last time? No defense, no chance. Well, we had maximum effort on defense. That's all teams ask from each other, maximum effort. Everyone contributed. Trace was all over the court. Two blocked shots that couldn't have come at a better time. Justus and Ethan locked up their best shooters. And Gary, Thomas, and Isaac combined for 25 rebounds. All around a great team effort on both ends of the court."
The Archers will be back in action for another home game this Thursday, January 29th, at 6pm CST, against Appalachian Bible College.
