On October 10th, the Lady Archers ran their first 5k race of the season at St. Patrick's Park in South Bend, IN, for the 2025 Bethel Invitational, hosted by Bethel University. Olivet Nazarene took first with 35 points, Goshen second with 70 points, and Notre Dame Running Club third with 77 points. The Archers placed 8th out of 9 teams, with 181 points.
Junior Kassidy Kleinheksel led the Lady Archers with a time of 21:57, 31 seconds faster than last year. Freshman Sage Weaver ran her first college 5k in 23:32, breaking her high school PR by 24 seconds. Samantha Duehring was next in 23:56, 1 minute 40 seconds faster than last year. Felicity Severs ran a brave race to finish in 24:15, and Ansley Sovine completed the score for the Archers, coming in 24:48 – over two minutes faster than last year's race. Running their first-ever 5K races, Adele Dutton finished in 25:04, Sophie Simpson in 25:31, and Lydia Sinchok in 30:33, all giving great effort and heart.
The Lady Archers will race at the Greenville Classic on Friday, October 17th, hosted by Greenville University in Hillsboro, IL. The ladies' race will take place at 5 pm at the Hillsboro Country Club.
