| Title: | Men's Basketball Head Coach |
Michael Chapin is the Head Coach for the Men’s Basketball Team. For over twenty-years Coach Chapin has been in and out of gyms learning and developing new styles of offenses and defenses. A true student of the game, he enjoys piecing together teams with unique skill sets to play smooth offense and tough defense.
Coach Chapin plays to win. As he likes to say, “Nobody cooks a meal hoping it tastes bad and nobody should play basketball hoping to lose, you play to win.” Every year Chapin looks forward to welcoming young men of God with a talent to win basketball games but more importantly have a deeper desire to grow in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man.
Coach Chapin loves to use his professional skills to give back. He has taught over ten classes on servant leadership and character development to 500+ students at Shanghai University of Engineering Science, Beijing Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and The University of Chicago. Teaching entrepreneur skills and actions commonly connected with leadership habits and attitudes needed to build strong leaders suited for leading great teams and building successful companies.
Chapin has a business degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree from Moody Theological Seminary. Prior to coaching, Chapin worked at Moody Radio for nearly ten years.
Chapin and his wife, Allison, have two children, Isabella and Victoria.
We are glad to have Coach Chapin join us, and excited to see how God will work through MBI's Basketball Program in the 2025-26 season and beyond!
