Tough Loss to Kuyper

Tough Loss to Kuyper
This past Saturday the Archers traveled to Grand Rapids, MI, to play against Kuyper College. The Archers struggled as a team and fell hard to the Kuyper Cougars 49-112. The first half ended in 19-63, with the Cougers in charge, and the Archers continued to struggle in the 2nd half, unable to get into a fluid rhythm as a team and regain their ground.

Sherman Etienne led the Archers with 18 points, and Trace Stivers led the rebounds and assists, grabbing 8 and giving 3 respectively. Coach Chapin didn't mince words when he bluntly stated: "We played awful. No focus, no defense, and no effort." He also held fast to his belief in his team's potential and ability, and the need to get back up and keep going: "Have to put this one behind us. The score in no way is an accurate reflection of who this team is becomming. We are much better than what everyone witnessed today. Time to move on."

The Archers will come back to face the Cougars for a re-match on the Archers' home court, Friday, February 13th, at 6pm CST.
