In their final home game of the week, this Saturday afternoon, the Archers dualed with Great Lakes Christian College in a thrilling game that started with a close back-and-forth fight, and ended with the same level of relentless, zealous effort. Though the Archers lost to the Crusaders 77-106, they displayed a dynamic energy and united focus on the court.
Thomas Wright led the score for the Archers with 27 points, and Sherman Etienne claimed the rebounds, snatching 11 offensive and 10 defensive rebounds for his team.
Coach Chapin stated, "This was a tough loss. Great Lakes is a contendor to win the league championship and we battled for 30 minutes, but had too many breakdowns in the last 10 minutes of the game. We out-rebounded them and made nearly 50% of our field goals, but because we turned the ball over 25 times, we gave them 20 extra shot attempts." He went on, "If this game proves anything, it's that we got the right guys to go up against anyone, we just have to tighten a few things up if we want to make a strong push to the end of the season."
The Archers take a week respite from games, before traveling to Grand Rapids, Michigan, next Saturday (February 7th) to play against Kuyper College at 2pm EST.
