The Moody Archers battled hard on Saturday night but ultimately fell 119–84 to a talented Williams Baptist squad that controlled the pace from the start. Despite the final score, the Archers showed fight and flashes of growth throughout the game, highlighted by stretches of strong ball movement and confident offensive execution. Moody matched the Cardinals in overall field-goal efficiency, but persistent turnovers, second-chance points and rebounding disparities created challenges the Archers couldn't fully overcome.
Freshman forward Thomas Wright delivered a standout performance, pouring in 39 points with 8 rebounds, demonstrating his ability to carry the scoring load and attack the paint with confidence. Sherman Etienne added 16 points and 6 rebounds, providing a much-needed spark both offensively and on the glass. However, Williams Baptist's advantage on offensive rebounds and timely scoring runs made it difficult for Moody to sustain momentum. Each time the Archers pieced together a rally, the Cardinals responded with key baskets and extended possessions that widened the gap.
Even in defeat, the Archers left the floor with clear areas of encouragement and areas to sharpen moving forward. Improved rebounding discipline, more consistent defensive rotations, and stronger free-throw efficiency will be points of emphasis as Moody prepares for the next stretch of the season. The team continues to show resilience and growth, and with the support of Archers fans behind them, they remain committed to competing with intensity and improving each game.
The Archers play their next game against Olivet Nazarene University on the 3rd of December.
