The Archers played an exciting game against Emmaus Bible College last Saturday, in Dubuque, IA. While the Archers lost 61-79 to the Eagles, the duel marked a relentless fight from the Archers to close the gap.
The Eagles took off early, taking control of the first half of the game with intense defensive pressure and dynamic offensive action, delivering a half-time lead of 40-25.
In the second half, the Archers pressed on even harder, with grit and resolve to make up ground. Thomas Wright was the top-scorer for the Archers, contributing 25 points with his sharp ball-handling and smooth accuracy. Sherman Etienne also scored an impressive 20 points, and 16 agile rebounds, making aggressive strides to catch the Eagles. The Archers made a lot of ground, but lost the second half 36-39.
Coach Michael Chapin expressed how the team fought relentlessly all the way: "The guys battle! This was our third physical game in five days. It's unfortunate, but we got off to a slow start. Even with limited guys playing all week, we still found a way to cut their lead from seventeen to five. That was a lot of ground to make up. We just ran out of gas."
The Archers' next game will be at home, against Williams Baptist College this Saturday, November 22nd at 2pm CST.
